Illegal Dumping

Sacramento County hauls away hundreds of tons of junk and rubbish illegally dumped in the public right-of-way every year. From construction debris to refrigerators, this trashing blights our neighborhoods, pollutes our rivers and streams, drives down property values, and costs County tax and rate payers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. The County is dedicated to combating and reducing illegal dumping. We post signs at chronic illegal dumping sites, erect barriers at frequently abused alleys, and have a Code Enforcement Officer assigned to the program. For more information, visit the Illegal Dumping Program web page.

You can report an issue by going online, dialing 3-1-1 from within the unincorporated areas of the County or dialing 916-875-4311 if calling from outside of the County’s unincorporated areas.
